All tours and travel arrangements offered by China Direct are licensed by the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (Air Travel Operator's Licence ATOL no: 5120), and fully bonded. This scheme means that in the unlikely event of China Direct being declared insolvent your money will be refunded, or if you are abroad you will be safely brought home at no extra cost. Your money paid to us is therefore secure and your holiday guaranteed. Futhermore, we abide by the conditions of the European Union's Package Tours Regulations, 1992.

Our hotels and Yangtze cruise boats

The star-rating system for Chinese hotels can be confusing and popular hotel review sites do not offer accurate reviews. Once gained, star ratings cannot be lost. Hotels, even with the same star-rating, can be very different. A 5-star hotel may have a shabby extension, or a 3-star quality hotel have a 4-star rating, and so on.

We use only a combination of centrally located 4- and 5-star hotels. Our goal is to offer our clients the best possible hotels in the best possible locations within our price range. We constantly review hotels in China and make at least two trips per year to inspect hotels. Thanks to our special connections and exclusive contracts with hotels and local agents we can mostly guarantee such suitable hotels at the best possible rates on the market.

When clients book a Yangtze cruise we will tell them which cruise boast they will be on. We don't leave it until the last minute or the whim of the ground operator for cheap pricing. We only use 5 star cruise boats that have cabins with private balconies.
