Panda Conservation

Length: 14 days

An 14-day tour covering Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai and Chengdu, with the opportunity to work as a volunteer at the Panda centre at Bifengxia, in the countryside about 3 hours' drive from Chengdu.

Day 1 Arrive Shanghai. Stay at 3-star hotel (own arrangement to hotel, no transfer or guide)
Day 2 Free day.
Day 3 Free day. Own arrangement to railway station for overnight train to Luoyang.
Day 4 Arrive Luoyang. Pick up and tour to the Shaolin Temple, home of kung fu. Overnight in Luoyang Day 5Own arrangement to station for train to Xi'an. Arrive Xi'an (Own arrangement to hotel) (B) Day 6Tour with own local guide and car + driver to the famous Terracotta Army.
Day 7 Flight to Chengdu (own arrangement to airport). Day free (no transfer to hotel)
Day 8 Transfer to bus station for bus to Bifenxia
Day 9 Work as volunteer at the Panda centre which houses many giant pandas (B)
Day 10 Work as volunteer at the Panda centre which houses many giant pandas (B)
Day 11 Free day (B)
Day 12 Transfer to bus station for bus to Chengdu. Flight to Beijing. Stay at 3-star hotel (no transfer) (B)
Day 13 Tour with local guide and car + driver to the Great Wall and rickshaw tour around the 'hutongs' - the traditional residential areas of old Beijing (B)
Day 14 Free day.
Day 15 Exit (no transfer).
