Highlights of China

Length: 14 days

A comprehensive two-week tour itinerary that includes a cruise on the Yangtze River, the cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Xi'an, with the added bonus of Wuzhen, Hangzhou and Guilin/Yangshuo.

Day 1 Arrive Shanghai. Stay at 3-star hotel (own arrangement to hotel, no transfer or guide)
Day 2 Free day.
Day 3 Transfer to bus station to the small 'water town' of Wuzhen with its old buildings, canals and bridges. Tour Wuzhen. Transfer to bus station for bus to Hangzhou. Stay at 3-star hotel (no transfer).
Day 4 Flight Hangzhou to Guilin (own arrangement to airport). Arrive Guilin. Transfer by bus to Yangshuo.
Day 5 Free day.
Day 6 Flight to Chongqing (own arrangement to airport). Arrive Chongqing. Own arrangement to join your 4-star Yangtze River cruise boat.
Day 7 to 8 Yangtze River cruise downstream through the Three Gorges (3B, 2L, 2D).
Day 9 Arrive Yichang. Transfer to railway station for train to Xi'an.
Day 10 Arrive Xi'an. Pick-up from station and transfer to hotel. Tour with own local guide and car + driver to the famous Terracotta Army.
Day 11 Free day until evening when own arrangement to railway station for overnight train to Beijing.
Day 12 Arrive Beijing. Pick up from train station and tour with own local guide and car + driver to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven.
Day 13 Tour with local guide and car + driver to the Great Wall, returning to Beijing for a tour by cycle rickshaw around the 'hutongs' - the traditional residential areas of old Beijing.
Day 14 Exit (no transfer).
