Budget tours

For those travelling on a budget we have created the following frameworks. These are to give you some idea of possibilities and cost. As each is a private tour, days can be cut and added to as you wish. Each includes 3-star accommodation, some sightseeing highlights, and transportation between cities including necessary transfers. They leave you free to arrange your own meals to suit your tastes and pocket, and explore China for yourself. You are not bound into organised group tours.

Accommodation is simple but clean, and tours are more suitable for experienced travellers seeking a more authentic China experience. Transport is by plane, public bus and 'hard' sleeper compartments on overnight trains. Departures can be made on any day.

International flights are not included in the prices shown here. You can either make your own flight arrangements, or can ask us for the best fares we have available for your particular departure date as we have special relationships with major airlines.

Shanghai and Beijing

8 days - Two centre tour.

China Express

8 days - Tour for those with limited time covering Beijing, Xi'an, Hangzhou and Shanghai.

Highlights of China

14 days - Two week trip including Yangtze River cruise.

Beijing to Hong Kong

19 days - Tour route from north to south, including Yangtze River cruise.

Beijing to Hong Kong Express

11 days - A shorter north to south tour route, excluding Yangtze cruise.

Panda conservation

15 days - Highlights of China plus the chance to work as a volunteer caring for some of China's giant pandas.
