Beijing to Hong Kong

Length: 19 days

A trip from north to south, starting in the capital Beijing and finishing in Hong Kong, and including Yangtze River cruise.

Day 1 Arrive Beijing. Stay at 3-star hotel (own arrangement to hotel, no transfer or guide)
Day 2 Tour with local guide and car + driver to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, followed by a tour by cycle rickshaw around the 'hutongs' - the traditional residential areas of old Beijing.
Day 3 Free day.
Day 4 Free day until evening when own arrangement to railway station for overnight train to Shanghai.
Day 5 Arrive Shanghai. Stay at 3-star hotel. Rest of the day free.
Day 6 Free day.
Day 7 Day free until own arrangement to railway station for overnight train to Xi'an.
Day 8 Arrive Xi'an. Stay at 3-star hotel (own arrangements to hotel, no transfer)
Day 9 Tour with own local guide and car + driver to the famous Terracotta Army, returning to Xi'an to visit the city walls and Grand Mosque/Muslim Quarter.
Day 10 Own arrangement to railway station for train to Yichang. Arrive Yichang. Own arrangement to join 4-star Yangtze cruise boat.
Day 11-13 Yangtze River cruise upstream through the Three Gorges (B + L + D)
Day 14 Arrive Chongqing (no guide or transfer, own arrangement to airport). Flight to Guilin. Transfer to bus station for bus to Yangshuo.
Day 15 Free day.
Day 16 Own arrangement to Guilin railway station for overnight train to Shenzhen.
Day 17 Arrive Shenzhen. Cross the border and take the MTR/KCR train to Hong Kong. Own arrangement to hotel.
Day 18 Day free.
Day 19 Exit.
